Big News for First-time Homebuyers!
A new law has just been signed by the president to help first-time homebuyers. It basicly gives a buyer or buyers an $8,000 tax credit. This is a temporary stimulas measure, so don't delay.
First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit at a Glance
Tax credit is available for first-time home buyers only or for people who have not owned property in last 3 years.
Credit amount is up to $8,000.
Must purchase and close on a home on or after Jan 1, 2009 and before Dec 1, 2009.
Single taxpayers with incomes up to $75,000 and married couples with incomes up to $150,000 qualify for the full $8,000.
The tax credit is basicly doesn't have to be repaid unless you sell within 3 years.
